Mailbox configuration in the Mozilla Thunderbird program

Mailbox configuration is presented on the basis of mailbox:e-mail@your-domain.pl

Mailbox name consists of two parts:
- the name before “@” (here: e-mail) is the account name
- the name after “@” (here: your-domain.pl) is the domain

Caution! “e-mail@your-domain.pl” and “your-domain.pl” are example addresses. They should be exchanged by personal names while program configuration.

1. 1.Click the File menu, and then New -> Accounta .


 

2.Click Mail Account in the open window.


 

3. In another window type the name that will be visible in From box and a configured e-mail account address.


 

4. Next, choose the server type (POP) and type its address (in this case - your-domain.pl – type the name of your domain). When Use global incoming mail is clicked, the mailbox will be stored in account catalogues present in the program. Tick off this option to have separate catalogues.


 

5. The next step is to type the user’s name – in this case both user’s name and e-mail address are the same.


 

6. Type the name for a configured account in the next window.

 

7. Next, tick off Download messages and click Finish.

 

8. Configure sending e-mail in the next window. In this case click the Tools menu and next Account configuration.


 

9.Select Outgoing e-mail server, click Add and fill in the window according to the picture below.

 

Dla klientów sieci Telekomunikacji Polskiej port 25 należy zamienić na 587.

10. When the account is added, open it and select the added outgoing e-mail server.


 

11. To save your e-mail messages on the server (in order to have access to messages from any place) click Server configuration and select Save message copy on the server.


 

12. Click OK button to accomplish account configuration. To collect and send an e-mail for the first time the password must be typed.
